Long a backpacker favorite Joy Bungalow is the best-known resort on the island and I think it could be argued that they are the best-known bungalow operation in all of Southern Thailand, if not the entire country. Everybody has heard of Joy. This was a wild place when it was the first resort built on KJum way back in 1990 and was the only game in town until New Bungalow moved in next door in 1993. Built under towering casuarina palm trees the whole area has a very pastoral setting. If you just want to relax and work on your tan, beauteous Andaman Beach is right there.
