"Ao" means beach in Thai. Ao Nang, just 20 km outside of Krabi Town is easily accessible from all over Thailand.
Ao Nang is not as crowded as Phuket or Koh Samui, but the town is well developed with dozens of hotels, bungalows, and restaurants.
This is the closest beach to Krabi town and is a large bay with a long white sand beach. Behind it forested hills create a peaceful atmosphere. It is not an isolated paradise though and there is lots to do.
With a good choice of hotels and restaurants this is the place to stay if you fancy a little bit of nightlife after relaxing on the beach. Or perhaps take one of the many Longtails out to any of the 83 islands that dot the bay to go snorkeling over coral reefs or sunbathing on deserted beaches. |
